Meeting with the Moravian-Silesian Film Office: Together for the development of audiovisual production in the region


On March 6, 2025, we organized the first Meeting with the Moravian-Silesian Film Office at the Impact Hub in Ostrava.


Representatives of the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Statutory City of Ostrava, Czech Television (Ostrava Television Studio), colleagues from the Czech Film Commission, production and post-production studios from the region, academics from universities and representatives of tourist areas were invited to the meeting. The aim of the event was to present the activities of the Moravian-Silesian Film Office, establish cooperation and, above all, launch a discussion on the topic of obstacles to the development of audiovisual production in the region.


The meeting program included a presentation of the activities and activities of the Moravian-Silesian Film Office, followed by a presentation by the Czech Film Commission, which focused on cooperation at the national and regional levels. The film vouchers of the Moravian-Silesian Region were also presented as a tool for supporting film projects. The Statutory City of Ostrava presented its involvement in audiovisual production, and QQ Studio also took on its role, sharing its experience with production. After a break and informal networking, the University of Ostrava, Faculty of Arts focused on the strategy for the development of the creative and cultural sector. Czech Television, specifically the Ostrava Television Studio, presented its television production, followed by a presentation of the Film21 platform, which presented examples of good practice. The final discussion then offered a space for sharing ideas and visions for the future of the film industry in the region.


The meeting provided a space for discussing the future of the film industry in the region, sharing ideas and establishing new partnerships. It was confirmed that the Moravian-Silesian Region has not only high-quality infrastructure and locations suitable for filming, but also a wide base of experts who can participate in the implementation of film projects.


We thank all participants and look forward to further joint events that will take audiovisual production in the Moravian-Silesian Region to the next level.
